Area of a Triangle Equation - Online Tutoring A triangle in Geometry is a plane figure which consists of 3 lines joined together as the sides of the triangleand consists of 3 respective angles. The point where two sides meet is called the vertex of the triangle. Areaof the triangle is region extended and covered inside the boundary lines or inside the sides of the triangle. Example 1: Find the area of the triangle if the base length is 400cm and height of the triangle is7m. Given the length of a side = base length, b = 400cm Convert its units form cm to m, we get 400cm * (1m/100cm) = 4m The perpendicular drawn to a side from a vertex is the height of the triangle. Given the height of the triangle, h = 7m Area of the triangle formula, A = 1/2 * (base length) * (height) Area, A = 1/2 * (4m) * (7m) = 1/2 * (28m2) = 14m2 Area of the given triangle, A = 14m2 Example 2: Find the area of the triangle if the base length is 35cm and height of the triangle is22cm. Given the length of a side = base length, b = 35cm The perpendicular drawn to a side from a vertex is the height of the triangle. Given the height of the triangle, h = 22cm Area of the triangle formula, A = 1/2 * (base length) * (height) Area, A = 1/2 * (35cm) * (22cm) = 1/2 * (770) = 385cm2 Area of the given triangle, A = 385cm2
